Coonoor & Ooty Arrival
Night departure from Chennai/Bangalore/Coimbatore. Arrive early morning. Morning: Check-in to hotel. Freshen up. Breakfast. Forenoon: Head to Coonoor (20 km from Ooty). Visit Sim's Park — a magnificent botanical garden with over 1,000 plant species. Walk through Dolphin's Nose viewpoint — stunning panoramic views of Coonoor valley and Catherine Falls. Visit Lamb's Rock — another spectacular viewpoint. Afternoon: Tea estate visit and tasting at Highfield Tea Factory — see how Nilgiri tea is processed. Toy train ride from Coonoor to Ooty (if available — UNESCO World Heritage rack railway). Evening: Explore Ooty Market — eucalyptus oil, handmade chocolates, Nilgiri tea. Dinner. Overnight Ooty.
Ooty Sightseeing & Return
Morning: Breakfast. Visit Doddabetta Peak (2,637m — highest point in Nilgiris) — on clear days, see plains of Coimbatore and Tamil Nadu spreading below. Visit the telescope house at the summit. Mid-morning: Ooty Botanical Garden — 22 hectares of beautifully maintained gardens established in 1848. See the 20-million-year-old fossil tree trunk. Ooty Lake — optional boating. Late morning: Rose Garden — Asia's largest rose garden with 20,000+ varieties of roses in full bloom. Afternoon: Thread Garden (optional). Shopping for local produce. Check-out. Begin return journey. Arrive home city by late evening.
