About Hampi

Hampi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Karnataka, spread across the ruins of Vijayanagara β€” once one of the world's largest cities and the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire (1336–1565 AD). Today, hundreds of temples, palaces, market streets and bathing ghats lie scattered across a surreal landscape of giant granite boulders.

The visual drama of Hampi is unmatched β€” ancient stone structures rise from a boulder-strewn terrain on the banks of the Tungabhadra River. Watching the sunset from Matanga Hill or the Hemakuta Hill, with the ancient ruins glowing golden in the fading light, is an experience that stays with you forever.
